Simplicity comes from a profound thought. ' anon.Â
Mu in terms of meditation is the striving to be free from the personal ego, in the Buddist sense a state of ' not ' or ' nothingness '. Early rice bowls made in Korea were mostly made by uneducated children who, on a daily basis, would repeatedly throw bowls. Like any repetitive action, the thought process becomes removed and all that is left is the object. That removal of intellect and ego is also Mu. Some of those surviving bowls are now internationally known and admired. The evolution of this idea was taken and became a part of the disciplines in martial arts and the creative arts in Japan. The discipline from the body came from the state of mind.
